Orthoses are orthomechanical devices designed to relieve abnormal stresses on the foot, ankle, leg, and hip and lower back. They work by correcting poor foot posture, which can affect the alignment of the entire body. Weak muscles, and malaligned bones and arches can increase stresses within the foot structures and the surrounding soft tissues, resulting in foot pain, ankle pain and other issues of the lower limbs (including, knees, hips and back).
